Georgios Artopoulos

Georgios Artopoulos, PhD, Associate Professor at Cyprus Institute works on virtual environments, urban modelling and digital simulation for the study of built heritage and the creative exploration of historical narratives through externally funded projects (HORIZON-CL6-2022-COMMUNITIES-01-05, INFRA-2023-SERV-01, HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-03, Horizon 2020, ENI-CBC-MED, Driving Urban Transitions Partnership and the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation), his role as co-Head of Virtual Competency Centre of DARIAH ERIC, and as a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of JPI Urban Europe. His research is published in more than 70 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.

  • Digital Integrated Strategies to Safeguard Heritage Construction Technologies

    This international workshop, funded by the DARIAH Working Group Activities 2023-2025 programme, was organised by the CNR Institute of Heritage Science with the Cyprus Institute and the University of Catania, supported by the Municipality of Poggioreale. It addressed digital methods for conserving and reusing tangible and intangible construction heritage, highlighting Heritage Building Information Modelling for data acquisition, interoperability, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
