Francesco Cannizzaro

Francesco Cannizzaro graduated in Civil Engineering in 2007 and obtained his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering in 2011 at the University of Catania. He enriched the Discrete Macro-Element Method contributing to the modelling of masonry vaults and fiber-reinforced masonry structures. He has also provided contributions in the fields of statics, stability and dynamics of discontinuous beams and frames using generalised functions to treat discontinuities. He spent visiting periods at the Universities of Minho, Udine and Strathclyde. Since March 2023 he is Associate Professor at the University of Catania in “Mechanics of Structures”.

    This international workshop, funded by the DARIAH Working Group Activities 2023-2025 programme, was organised by the CNR Institute of Heritage Science with the Cyprus Institute and the University of Catania, supported by the Municipality of Poggioreale. It addressed digital methods for conserving and reusing tangible and intangible construction heritage, highlighting Heritage Building Information Modelling for data acquisition, interoperability, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
