Andrea Sterpin

Andrea Sterpin, M.Ing. Arch., is a Ph.D. candidate (XXXIX cycle) in Architecture at the University of Ferrara. Since 2021, he has been collaborating with INCEPTION, a spin-off of the University of Ferrara. His research and professional activities focus on the digitization of the built environment, with expertise in 3D surveying and BIM modeling applied to Cultural Heritage. His current research explores web-based technologies for heritage enhancement, including H-BIM data enrichment through digital libraries and the development of platforms for the online visualization and management of 3D models.

  • 3D Acquisition Technique and Aware Heritage Modelling

    This resource introduces the basic concepts of 3D modelling for cultural heritage, focusing on 3D acquisition techniques and the broader concept of Aware Heritage Modelling. Three modelling approaches are presented: source-based, reality-based and hybrid. In addition,the course addresses the role of critical documentation, AI and FAIR principles.
