This course from dariahTeach introduces the learner to concepts and approaches to text analysis, from corpus linguistics to sentiment analysis. Core concepts in Linguistics as well as Data Science are explained as an introduction. It then focuses on ideas and approaches topic modelling and sentiment analysis, followed up with concrete examples showcasing the methods presented.

Tools and methods are also introduced along with practical examples to demonstrate their use.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

  • discuss the differences between corpus linguistics and data science
  • apply text analysis techniques, such as sentiment analysis and topic modelling, to a dataset
