In My Beginning is My End

This ACDH lecture by Susan Schreibman focuses on the history, evolution and preservation of digital scholarly editions and the scientific research surrounding them. Since the 1990s, digital scholarly editions (DSEs) have become a staple in Digital Humanities. However, despite their relevance in the field, they keep disappearing or stop functioning due to changes in technology and a lack of preservation mechanisms. Research Infrastructures might provide opportunities to sustain long-term access to digital scholarship and facilitate the digital afterlife by conceptual rethinking, technological innovation and strategic advocacy.
